Need to make a quick change to a particular document? Now users can update their docs from the doc options menu. Click the action icon and select Update, then you’ll be able to upload the new file that you’d like to replace the current version with.

Need to see who made a change to a document? Opening the update window shows you the latest revisions to that file and will allow you to revert to a previous version if you need to.

Is there a vine that you need to hold onto? Maybe a note or task that you don’t want to get lost in your Activity Feed? Now users can pin a vine to to the top of their personal Feed. Even if you check “Got it” on a pinned item, it will remain at the top of your feed for safe keeping until it is unpinned.

Vines can also be pinned to the top of an Activity Feed within a project by the project admin. We’ve also updated reports so you can choose columns or select filters for whether a vine was pinned to a given project.

Document Sharing

We’ve added the ability to generate a shareable link on any document. Go to the option menu and select “Share Link”. From here you’ll be able to set security settings for accessing the document and then generate the shareable link.

In the share settings you can make the document available to anyone, protect it with a password, or give accessibility to only certain Filevine users. After creating a document link, you can edit or remove it anytime.

We just made it easier to email from within Filevine! The new plugin “Email CC by Filevine” allows users to click on an email from within a Filevine project and compose their email while CC’ing the project email address. This will allow you to email your clients and retain a record in their project automatically.
