Bighorn Law is a top-rated law firm, specializing in personal injury, workers’ compensation, medical malpractice, and much more. We have a reputation for winning more cases and bigger settlements. When it comes to your case, Bighorn has your back.

Founded in 2011 in Las Vegas, Bighorn Law began with a simple mission: to take care of family, friends, and community. What started locally has grown into a trusted personal injury law firm serving clients statewide in Nevada and across Arizona, California, and Utah.

Since their inception, they’ve won over $250 million in settlements for clients, including a $13.6 million medical malpractice case.

Jacqueline Bretell is no stranger to change. Having started practicing law at just 23, the CEO of Bighorn Law has seen her firm grow tenfold since joining it.

“When I started at Bighorn, there were maybe 10 of us, total. We could all fit in this really small conference room for our Friday morning meetings where we were all together. Now we have 92 people on our team and it's been an incredible amount of growth over the last 12 years.”

Along with that growth came the need to find ways to be efficient and stay on top of cutting-edge technology.

“It was such an incredible transition to go from a server-based platform over to a cloud-based platform. To have this system where you can really be anywhere in the world and…be on the go, especially in today's world where so many of our depositions are not only in other states, but sometimes in other countries and to meet clients where they are, it's so important to stay nimble.”

Bretell says one of the most exciting parts of working with Filevine’s products is having an edge her firm did not have before.

“Now when we sit in a courtroom, we have our full file in front of us sitting on our laptops, we can access any document,” says Bretell. “We can chat on our case about any particular thing. And for a team of very competitive trial lawyers, that's incredibly important.”

Perhaps the most impactful aspect of using Filevine according to Bretell has been the speed with which the system gives her answers.

“Having the ability to quite simply click a button and be able to generate a MedCron that is hyperlinked to the individual medical records is invaluable,” says Bretell. While previously evaluating medical records took hours, it’s now done “with a click of a button.” She says her team can make crucial case decisions “within a matter of minutes.”

The best piece of advice Bretell can give other personal injury firms is to invest in technology.

“I would encourage anybody who is on the fence about this to explore the different types of products that Filevine has out there. You will completely transform not only your practice but also, more importantly, the lives of your clients.”
