Vice President/Senior Corporate Counsel

Our extraordinary team of passionate professionals love working together to help organizations thrive. Filevine is hiring for a Vice President/ Senior Corporate Counsel of Legal Affairs. This role will serve as a formal member of the Executive Team at Filevine and will report to the company President.

This role will lead the corporate legal department and is responsible for all legal affairs of the company. This role includes providing strategic and tactical legal counsel to the senior leadership team. The successful candidate will be revenue and customer-centric, focused on helping the company grow and accomplish its business objectives, while able to ensure legal compliance and limit risk exposure.

Job Duties

  • Advise senior leaders on legal matters relevant to the company’s business and operations
  • Contribute a legal perspective to Filevine’s strategic initiatives to promote and protect the company’s business and operations
  • Manage team of legal professionals
  • Oversee and drive commercial contracting function for efficiency and revenue generation
  • Act as corporate secretary and manage corporate governance and corporate matters
  • Manage current and future intellectual property portfolio
  • Oversee and direct compliance practices and initiatives including CCPA, HIPAA and more
  • Manage legal affairs of M&A activity and other strategic initiatives
  • Direct ongoing litigation and other legal disputes
  • Support human resources and employment law matters
  • Managing the legal department budget

Required Education, Experience and Other Attributes

  • Juris Doctor from accredited law school
  • Licensed to practice in at least one state
  • Significant contract negotiation experience, preferable in technology and SaaS contracts
  • Proficient legal experience in commercial contracting, M&A and Compliance
  • Experience with corporate governance issues and corporate secretarial duties
  • Experience with HR issues
  • Knowledge of statutes, rules and regulations pertaining to businesses
  • Strong initiative, excellent management and leadership skills and strong business acumen
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work under tight time pressures, prioritize work, and react appropriately to changing business needs and demands all in a fast-paced, high-growth business environment.
