Cloud Security Engineer

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Work directly with the internal Cloud Architecture team to design, configure, and deploy a secure cloud infrastructure that follows a defense in depth security model
  • Build, design, develop, deploy, and support security software/tools that deliver security functionality and improve security efficiency and capabilities through automation
  • Create requirement and design documents that account for security risks in new or existing systems with architectures to mitigate them within risk appetite
  • Ensure enterprise security on AWS and Azure platforms
  • Develop automation and utilize frameworks to scale both protection and mitigation tools
  • Monitor, support, evaluate existing security controls and make recommendations to enhance security

Required technical & professional expertise:

  • BS degree, or industry equivalent
  • At least 5+ years in a hands-on security role with a strong background in cloud security architecture
  • Hands-on experience with some the following:
    • Security administration in AWS/GCP/Azure
    • CI/CD and DevOps Tooling (Git, Jenkins, Octopus Deploy, GitLab)
    • Infrastructure as code tools (Ansible, CloudFormation, Terraform)
    • Command Line usage (AWS, Bash, Powershell)
    • Network & Infrastructure engineering
    • Cloud native security related tools (AWS Guard Duty, AWS WAF, etc.)
    • Docker and Kubernetes
  • Experience with enhancing security on AWS and Azure platforms
  • Experience with compliance programs (CJIS, HIPAA, SOC, ISO, PCI, NIST etc.)
  • Experience with one or more Microsoft security tools like ATP, Cloud App Security, and Intune
  • Experience with Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) tools like Splunk Cloud
  • Experience with vulnerability scanning products like Tenable.io
  • Strong knowledge of Batch Programming and Scripting
  • Strong understanding of the OSI model and TCP/IP protocols
  • Strong knowledge of Unix/Linux operating systems
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of OWASP security model and Web application security
  • Familiarity with security testing and forensics tools

  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect
  • AWS Certified Security – Specialty
  • Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP)
  • Certified Information Security Professional (CISSP)
  • GIAC Cloud Security Automation (GCSA)
  • Microsoft 365 Certified: Security Administrator Associate
  • Azure Solutions Architect Expert
